For the name of the POAS, the goal is to have everyone refer to the
same person with the same name. Here are the guidelines:
1. Enter all your POAS’s name (to be safe, enter it according to the title of the person’s Wikipedia Page)
2. Press the “save” button at the bottom of the page and check to see if the found POAS is who you intended it to be
3. If you see any error message for entered POAS, do the following:
- Check spelling
- Check that you entered the commonly known name for the POAS (reference Wikipedia page title)
- You may need to include a middle name to specify who your POAS is (ex: George W. Bush vs George H. Bush)
4. Press “save” again and make edits as necessary until there are no more error messages
***NOTE that sometimes there will be no errors, but the page found will be incorrect***
Be sure to fix issues as such:
5. The number of people who have selected your entry is useful for assessing the possibility of receiving this choice. If a
popular person has a count of 1 (only you), you likely misspelled or entered an uncommon name for the POAS. The counts represents the numbers of times this entry has been selected as the first choice to the fifth choice respectively.
6. If you are absolutely sure you have made no error in entering your POAS choice yet the program keeps telling you there is an error, this typically means that your POAS does not have a Wikipedia page. If that is true, please speak to the teacher. You may also want to rethink the significance of such a person if they do not have a Wikipedia page.
